Hi, I’m alisa.
I’m a cosmetic and general dentist based in NYC, who happens to be tired of all of the misinformation out there when it comes to oral health and dental procedures. I believe that appropriate maintenance and minimally invasive dentistry can overall be dramatic, and I also believe in empowering YOU to love your teeth.
I am a native New Yorker with almost a decade in private practice. I graduated Amherst College with a double major in Anthropology and Biology. Prior to starting my journey into dentistry, I spent two years studying vulval development in C. elegans at Columbia University Medical Center. The genes active in this developmental cascade were implicated in Alzheimer’s Disease. After my deep dive into medical research, I enrolled in dental school at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine. After graduating with a selective in periodontics, I chose to continue on a two year residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. It is here that I learned advanced implant surgical and restorative skills.
I take great pride in my work and feel that the artistry and technical acumen of dentistry should never be compromised. I am committed to advanced continuing education that focuses on cosmetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation and implants. Through a custom crafted mixture of biomimetic restorative techniques with a special interest in airway orthodontics, occlusal equilibration and laser periodontics I strive to save your teeth and make them look great in the process! I am an active member of the the New York State Dental Association, The American Dental Association, The Second District Dental Society, The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The Academy of General Dentistry (where I am a candidate for fellowship) and The Kois Center. I am also a board member of The Association of Innovative Dentistry.
I am fluent in Russian. That’s my cat Greta in the photo. I always say “Greta is an anagram for great, ” because she’s a very good girl.
